Aaah, I get that side of it. I can definitely understand why people wouldn't want their off-site/non-DW account names or timelines to be completely known to everyone.
Putting it to an ultimate vote might be the best idea, but so far as suggestions go I really only have two. The first is the general "Game business should be done on the game's comms, particularly the OOC comm" as that community is accessible by absolutely all players in the game and even new players have immediate membership and access to all prior and upcoming plots so that they know what's going on.
However, I understand that not everyone wants to use the OOC comms for plots and that the threads get buried easily and/or forgotten, and previous other reasons that were all pretty good points. Perhaps if there was a way to create a plotting community or plot box, similar to the meme community or a the posts made on Plurk, that everybody has "Tracked" so that they know when people are looking for plots?
Honestly, the only other suggestion I can think of would be to make an Ink City plotting Plurk and have membership to Plurk highly encouraged upon joining the game (although I'm certain this will have its own set of drawbacks). If players wish to keep their own timelines and handles private then perhaps they can simply create a second Plurk that they use purely for IC purposes? ...Similar to multiple AIM accounts, I suppose.
I'm not sure that any of these solutions would make everybody happy (and again, that's understandable) or even completely fix the problem, but they're the only suggestions I can think of off-hand. ^^ And you're welcome! No worries about the delay either! I just was hoping I hadn't accidentally hurt anyone's feelings, because I definitely was not trying to be critical. Just suggest something I'd noticed. Either way though, thanks and I hope a decision can be reached swiftly and that everybody is, or most everyone is, alright with.
